Last Thursday, 9^th June  saw our first in person event in over two years with theme of  ‘Preparing your firm for a visit from the regulator’. Welcoming both SRA and CLC regulated firms, our half day conference was jam packed.

Held at the Hyatt Regency hotel in central Birmingham we welcomed headline speakers, Sean Hankin, Head of Forensic Investigation and Intelligence, from the SRA, CLC’s senior inspection team, Amy Hayes and Sebastian Harrison, Regulatory Supervision Manager and Steven Pearson, Deputy Chief Ombudsman, LeO.

Our Senior Compliance Adviser Norman Denton conducted an engaging AML Masterclass – which focused on what we know will be the key areas of concern and concentration in this critical field.

From staff screening to avoiding the pitfalls of Supervisory Visits and providing a comprehensive preparation checklist, the session was a thorough and informative presentation for all.

Our law firm panel – ‘Been there and got the tee-shirt!’ –  saw our stellar panellists Paul Norris Harvey Harding Nimesh Ganatra Angela Hesketh Nina D. shared their experiences of preparing for an audit and going through them – they gave some great tips based on their own real life experiences
