Leading legal compliance company for law firms Legal Eye has appointed three new team members.
Legal Eye’s team of risk and compliance professionals has been strengthened by two solicitors and a Fraud Investigation Management MSc graduate.
Solicitors Elisabeth Bellamy and Christine Tallon join as Senior Compliance Advisors, with Darcy Rainger, pursuing her interest in risk and compliance, appointed as Compliance Coordinator.
A current Legal Ombudsman Board Member, Elisabeth is a property solicitor who has practised in both the UK and Singapore, bringing a wealth of experience with her. Since 2001 Elisabeth has been involved in all aspects of regulatory compliance, from her time as Managing Partner of a law firm through to her more recent work as consultant to law firms advising on general practice management including formations of ABS.
Commenting on her new role, Elisabeth said: “I firmly believe that good practice management directly contributes to the success of a law firm. Being able to help law firms and legal service providers with their regulatory compliance is truly fulfilling – compliance is not the unnecessary burden it can often be held out to be.”
Joining Elisabeth as a Senior Compliance Advisor is Christine Tallon. A solicitor of almost 25 years, she was an equity partner at a firm in the City specialising in high value personal injury claims.
During her time in private practice, Christine was a member of the firm’s risk and compliance committee, sharpening her skills in regulatory compliance, and gaining Lexcel accreditation as a consultant and assessor. Having worked in private practice, Christine understands the challenges involved in running firms; trying to mitigate risk and adhering to compliance.
Christine said: “I am excited to join the team at Legal Eye. It is great to be a part of assisting law firms and legal service providers with their risk and compliance strategies, meaning they can focus on their fee earning.”
As Compliance Coordinator, Darcy supports the directors and senior management team, along with leading the organisation of Legal Eye events.
Drawing on her MSc in Fraud Investigation Management, Darcy is perfectly placed to support Legal Eye’s provision of training and updates on compliance related topics. She works closely on the Legal Eye Academy – helping to create and monitor modules, ensuring these are up to date and consistently relevant.
Commenting on her new role, Darcy said: “I am really excited to be a part of the Legal Eye team, no day is the same and I really enjoy helping law firms and legal service providers meet their regulatory requirements in relation to risk and compliance. I also love to keep learning and my work with the Legal Eye Academy ensures I never stop!”
Legal Eye Managing Director Paul Saunders said: “The team here at Legal Eye just goes from strength to strength. Having Elisabeth, Christine and Darcy join the team just further solidifies my belief that we are going into 2020 stronger than ever. With the complexity of regulation on the rise we’re committed to ensuring that our advice and support for law firms is the best it can be.”
