Understanding the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025
The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 updates aspects of the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 rather than replacing the existing data protection framework.
Its provisions came into force in stages between June 2025 and June 2026. From 19 June 2026, organisations must have an appropriate process through which individuals can submit data protection complaints.
The training explains the changes relevant to law firms and helps participants understand how they may affect subject access requests, lawful processing, complaints and the firm’s wider data protection arrangements.
