From 1st November 2018, all Lexcel accredited firms in England and Wales will be assessed against the new Lexcel standard, version 6.1, at their next assessment visit.
The new standard was released earlier this year and includes new requirements for managing personal data – based around the requirements of GDPR – as well as the Prevention of Tax Evasion and Financial Sanctions procedures feature in the new version.
There are are also revised requirements in relation to information management and security, AML and CTF to ensure compliance with the MLR 2017, as well as changes in relation to client care, initial information to clients and also standing terms of business.
